How to Play with Best Golf Clubs
I often hear it on the golf course and in the club house as the guys discuss their scores and then end off with "My next goal is to break 80!"
Can it be done?
The reason for that is because the focus switches from playing golf to scoring in golf. I've just read a great article on this in which the writer reminds us that golf is about scoring and not about adding up your score. He says you should play as if you care - but not about your score.
What he is saying is stay with each shot and concentrate on that shot with TaylorMade R9 irons. Play to your strengths. If you are particularly comfortable and consistent with one club then play to it.
I play whatever it takes to get the chance to use my 6 iron for my approach shot. This often means that a driver is not required off the tee. That in itself takes the pressure off the tee shot! If your next goal in golf is to break 80 try not to think about the score.
I know that is easier said than done but it is essential if you want to succeed.
If the goal is to break 80 so how the heck do you not think about it?
Here are some things you can concentrate on - on each and every shot with cheap golf clubs:
Using a loose putting grip will allow you to feel the weight of the putter head and the feeling of the hit as it lightly taps the golf ball into the hole of the green.
Use correct posture
Note the target
Let your arms hang loosely
Relax
Focus you eyes on the ball for lineup
Think, visualize, and tap the ball into the target hole
Walk the golf course before playing a game. Get familiar with the sloping of the grounds, how the grass grows, the lakes, the sand pits, the trees, the weather, and other possible obstacles which may hinder your game.
Walking the golf course is no different from a race car driver cruising the race way before the race competition. He too needs to know the sharpness of the curves, the incline of the road, holes, bumps, evidence of wet pavement, and other simple or hazardous conditions to hinder his racing goal.
When you have developed a good putting routine, perform it with the same ritual each time. This puts you into a preparation mode of being physically conditioned by your walk and you are mentally prepared to putt.
Are you ready to putt?
Address
Check your swing path
Regulate distance and speed
Control your putter
Strike the ball
Do not look until the shot has been completed
Five tips for a good putt:
Choose your favorite putting grip. Are you having a problem with your grip? Try other professional golfers techniques.
Control your putter grip by stabilizing your wrists. Firm wrists are essential as you do not want a wrist break.
Use steady hands
Let shoulders do the work
Be square to the target
These are new styles of grip putters which modern golfers are bringing to the game of best golf clubs. Select the grip putter which works best for you or if not satisfied try the new ideas.
Think about it. Golf has evolved to where it is today because of new and innovative ideas. Check new putter club designs. Do not forget. It is the talent and skill behind the golf club which controls the outcome of the game.
