Nike pro combo forged irons.. good or bad uprgade from taylormade r7's?
are the nike pro combo irons a good upgrade from the r7's? i want a cheap foprged irons and these fit those specs.
I don't know. I've played the Pro Combos since '04. For me, it was an upgrade from the Mizuno T-Zoid True blades which I really liked. The shafts were a bit stiff in the Mizunos which I bought from a guy who is much bigger than me. I like the forgiveness of the Pro Combos and the feeling of a well struck shot from a forged iron. The T-Zoids were forged too so I will not hit a non-forged iron ever again. Actually the Pro Combos are an older model than the r7's so I don't know if upgrade is the correct term. You can always re-shaft your irons which I may do as opposed to getting the VR Split Cavities. However, I've hit the Split Cavities and really like them so that is my dilemma. If you want a forged iron, you'll like the Pro Combos. I do.
