Question on Shaft Flex?
Is the tstep 110 gram steel shafts, form TaylorMade much different than 5.0 Rifle Shaft or a R300 shaft?
The website says they are for many swing speeds, but the RAC LT2 clubs only come in those shafts so I figured they can't be much different than Regular flex
Anybody know the difference?
At 110 grams a shaft is "usually" engineered to be a mid-to-high ball flight shaft.
The 5.0 is a 121 gram shaft with a mid-bend point, (medium ball flight)
The R300 is a 127 gram shaft with a high-bend point (lower ball flight)
It sounds like the TaylorMade version of the Callaway "uniflex" shaft. If you are normally in the "regular" flex range, it's probably OK.
The LT stands for Lower Trajectory (referring to the head), so I would look for these shafts to have mid ball flight characteristics, as compared to a high flight shaft you more commonly see lately. The exception being the R300/S300 Dynamic Golds, they are still a commonly used, lower flight shaft.
