Help with clubs...?
I want to find a golf set as i am a beginner, i was wondering what type i should get that has quality, but won't cost over say $400? I've seen top-flite, and the wilson ultra comp, or maybe the adams tight lies classic...any advice would be great
If I was you depending on how much money you have to invest in golf over the next couple years either buy a cheap new set (200-300$ for everything) or get an absolutely dirt cheap old used set for 25$. Since you are just starting out you will bang the clubs in the ground a lot bcuz ur swing won't be perfect. Over the first 2-3 years your swing changes a lot. So you don't want to spend a lot and get regular shafts now and 2 years from now you need extra stiff shafts.....unless you have the money for this? I would say get one of the boxed sets for about 200-250$ for everything....all woods, irons, putters, and bag. Then get a 30$ pair of golf shoes and order some used mint condition balls online for about 4$ a dozen and see if you like golf. Golf is expensive and it doesnt stop costing money so the more you save now the better.
As the clubs you mention I would stick with Adams or Wilson. Just because they both offer more expensive better clubs. So maybe some of that technology will be imparted on their cheaper clubs. Think of it as buying the entry level BMW car.
I would get the Wilson or Adams clubs now and use them for 2 years. After that I would start replacing the set piece by piece starting with your biggest weakness....driver or putter, etc. When you do decide to get better clubs get them custom fit. But dont get clubs custom fit now cuz ur swing will change over the next few years.
Hope somewhere in this rambling was a decent answer lol
