Our home is ideally situated within a 15 minute drive of the Atlantic seaside town of Bundoran and a ½ hour from the bustling towns of Sligo and Donegal. Roosky Cottage is 3 hours from Dublin, 2 hours from Belfast and 4 hours from Shannon.

We invite you to experience our countryside retreat! Weekly and monthly rentals are available year-round. Shorter stays are available by special request.

You will feel the warmth of Roosky Cottage as you peer in the window and enter our front door.

To See and do:

You can do as little or as much as you like here. Birdwatch in our garden, read a book or take a sunset walk along the Atlantic Ocean. Look for wild hares, pheasants and other local fauna. Try out Irish recipes in the kitchen. Pick our wild garlic, sorrel and blackberries as your secret ingredients, or prepare the catch of the day from Lough Melvin!!!

Challenging trout and salmon fishing is right out our door on Lough Melvin. Fishing boats and guides are available for rental nearby. …or take a sea fishing charter on Donegal Bay from Mullaghmore or Ballyshannon.

Golfers can choose between 3 magnificent links courses during their stay: Bundoran Golf Club a 69 par 18- hole course 15 minutes away; Sligo Golf Club (Rosses Point) a championship 71 par course, 25 minutes drive and Donegal Golf Club (Murvagh) an 18 hole course with a par of 73 just 25 minutes away.

Hillwalking and strolling abounds here. Just 5 minutes drive from us is picturesque Fowley's Falls, a mile long sequence of waterfalls hidden in the woods, with a maintained trail and picnic area.

Rent a bike or canoe at the Holiday Centre in Garrison. Horseback riding is also popular with stables in two nearby towns.

Take an unlimited number of scenic drives with Roosky as your base. Drive up the Barr Road behind us for commanding views of Lough Melvin and Donegal Bay. Discover breathtaking sea cliffs and ocean vistas along Donegal Bay to Slieve League.

HOPPING, DINING, ENTERTAINMENT

Ready for town life? Shopping, dining, entertainment, people watching….it's all within easy reach. In seaside Bundoran, (15 minutes) you'll find great seafood and Continental restaurants,casual pubs, live local entertainment and even game arcades. "Waterworld" is located here where you will find an indoor pool, sauna and waterslide for the whole family. The nearby towns of Kinlough, Mullaghmore, Cliffonney, Blacklion and many other villages have unique restaurants with superb cuisine.

Donegal town known for it's tweeds has an interesting town center with lots of shops, restaurants, pubs and an historic castle that is not to be missed. Take the tour there with a local guide. Sligo is the largest nearby town offering museums, shops, restaurants, traditional pubs featuring Irish music and the Hawks Well Theatre. Both towns are only a ½ hour from Roosky Cottage.

Depending on the time of the year, partake in local festivals featuring Irish music, arts and crafts. Sligo, Ballyshannon and Donegal host festival in the summer months.
